Live 8, July 2, 2005

Barrie, Ontario, Canada

Although billed as 'Live8 Toronto', the venue was actually near a small city named 'Barrie', located about 80km north of Toronto.

What an amazing opportunity this was and I am forever grateful for the gig. Until the day of the show, I had no idea that I would be given an all access pass - absolutely nothing was off limits (short of good taste). Normally, if I shoot a performance from the stage, I wear black to try and fade into the background ... unfortunately, I was wearing bright faded jeans and, to top it off, a bright yellow T-shirt. Just Lovely. Not very professional, but I didn't know I was to have stage access.

How the organizers managed to get the Barrie production together in such little time is beyond me. If I remember correctly, the Barrie show was at it's worst only 15 minutes off schedule (compared to hours for some other venues which had weeks to prepare).
